
First Chance Dating is a full service speed dating company based in San Diego, CA. The company was created in 2009 and is run by a small group of people who know how to coordinate events. We take pride in being very well prepared and having our events run on time. Since this is a new company we will keep our prices affordable. There will always be someone to answer your questions and explain how the events work. Most of all we want everyone to have fun and meet new people.
Locate an event you would like to attend on our website and purchase tickets. Once you purchase the tickets you will be automatically registered and will not need to bring paperwork with you to the event. We will have your registration information on our event list when you arrive. Simply give us your name and you will be given a sticker with a number which you will keep throughout the event. You will also be given a scorecard which will have “YES or NO” next to each person’s number. After each date you will circle “YES or NO” to determine if you would like to meet that person again and/or get their contact information. There will be 2 parts to the scorecard, 1 for you to keep and 1 for First Chance Dating to keep. Once the event is over you will turn in the scorecard to an event staff member. For both daters that circled “YES” you will be given their contact information within 48 hours via e mail. For example, if woman #5 circled “YES” and man #28 circled “YES”, then that would be a match. If one dater circled “YES” and the other circled “NO”, then no personal information will be given since that would not be a match.
This is how the event will work. The host will explain how the event will run and give directions on how to complete the scorecard. Then the host will ask if there are any questions before the event starts. You will also be told what to do at the end of the event so we will not have any confusion. Next the women will be seated first at designated areas at the venue in numerical order and will remain there for the entire event. Then, the men will take a seat across or next to the woman. Once the event starts everyone will have 5-8 minutes for their date, depending on how many people attend. After the time is up a bell or whistle will be sounded to indicate the date is over and to rotate to the next date. Next, the women will remain seated and the men will rotate to the next numbered date. For example, woman #1 meets with man #21. After the 5-8 minutes have concluded man #21 will move on to woman #2 and will start their next date. This will continue for the entire event. Halfway through the night we will have a short 10 minute intermission so people can get a drink, go to the restroom, and mingle.
Most events are 2 hours with registration time included. We also ask for everyone to please not ask for phone numbers or e mail addresses during the event. We want this to be a safe and fun environment. We suggest you arrive early to check in and have a drink until the event starts.
